GAP KIDS

TINY THREADS

the ask:

Throughout this project, our team was tasked with the challenge of developing a mass-market line centered around cotton and denim, with a specific focus on GAP Kids for the Spring/Summer season. Key themes of nostalgia, modernity, and playfulness permeated our designs, reflecting our collective vision for the GAP Kids brand.

The process:

This collaborative project provided me with invaluable insights into the dynamics of working within a design team. As one of the two team leaders, I played a pivotal role in guiding the direction of our project, ensuring that our line encapsulated the narrative we aimed to convey. From conceptualization to execution, we meticulously crafted sketches, flats, cost sheets, line sheets, and assortment plans, mirroring the diverse responsibilities of both designers and merchandisers in the fashion industry. Through hands-on experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the intricate processes involved in translating creative concepts into tangible product offerings, further honing my skills as a future fashion professional.

color story

We curated a color story that represented a kids playfulness, while keeping the colors modern and trendy. We wanted colors that not only spoke to the kid, but the parent as well. This pallet allowed for a versatile and functional collection.
